Electric SEA is fast approaching in less than TWO WEEKS! Hosted by Third Place Technologies, in partnership with PublicDisplay.ART and Src Material, Electric SEA is an extended weekend arts and technology hackathon and pop-up showcase exhibition taking place March 26–28, 2026, in the heart of downtown Seattle at PublicDisplay.ART and the ArtLove Salon event space.
Whether you plan to build a project at the hackathon, attend workshops, or simply join the community for the showcase exhibition, all are welcome to take part in Electric SEA. That said, space is limited so be sure to register to save your spot.
As the event approaches, we wanted to share a few exciting updates:
Workshops and Tactile Stations.
We have finalized a fantastic line-up of workshops and hands-on “tactile stations” hosted by practitioners from the arts & tech community. Workshops are tied to the ElectricSEA theme, and will help you improve your own practice as a creative artist, technologist, designer, or maker. Be sure to check them out at: https://ElectricSEA.art/workshops. Some workshops are full, email shelly@thirdplacetechnologies.com to ask to get on a waitlist.
Granted Projects.
The showcase exhibition largely comes out of the ElectricSEA creative hackathon, and who knows what will spontaneously emerge from this highly creative arts and tech community? That said, we are supporting several jury-selected projects through grants that are likely to be highly engaging for the community. We are very excited to share our list of project grant recipients at: https://electricsea.art/projects/
Project Prizes: The Src Material Awards.
We are pleased to announce two exceptional hackathon projects will receive an award during the showcase exhibition, presented by Src Material. Src Material is a Seattle-based creative technology nonprofit functioning as a connective and curatorial force linking artists, technologists, thinkers, and institutions. The awards will recognize a First and Second Prize, honoring projects distinguished by their innovation, strength of execution, and depth of collaboration. The awards will be presented on Saturday at 8:30pm. Finalized Schedule.
Our full, finalized schedule for ElectricSEA is at https://ElectricSEA.art/schedule. Thursday is for preliminary workshops and lab setup. The hackathon runs Friday and Saturday, with the showcase exhibition Saturday evening. To help you make connections and join up with a project, be sure to attend the Orientation, Team Formation, and Project Updates meetings. The first is Friday morning at 10am.
If you’re attending as an observer or workshop participant, these are also great opportunities to meet the community and see how projects take shape.
