We are delighted to announce that Third Place Technologies is once again a proud recipient of a Community Accelerator Grant, funded by The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and awarded by ArtsFund.
This unrestricted grant enhances our work across King County, from the rural arts-oriented makerspace in Skykomish (SkyArtworks) to the urban core of Seattle (Passable Arts)—both key hubs for collaborative exhibitions and large-scale events.
The 2023 Community Accelerator Grant was instrumental in realizing our most ambitious exhibition to date: “Seattle: City of the Future.” Made possible by this generous funding, the exhibit harnessed Seattle’s innovative spirit through the collective visions of local artists, technologists, and civic activists, delving into the city’s future hopes, aspirations, and concerns.
Looking ahead, our forward-thinking initiatives for 2024-2025 will focus on developing renewable creative practices. We are advancing studio and educational projects that feature the local environment, including kinetic and illuminated elements powered by solar, wind, and water resources, such as those showcased at Sky Artworks and our upcoming Electric Sky Art Camp.
🙏 We extend our heartfelt thanks to The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and ArtsFund for their continued support and trust in our mission. For a community-driven organization like ours, the impact of an unrestricted grant cannot be overstated. This kind of support not only empowers us to seize opportunities to forge transformative partnerships but also to create experiences that enrich the public through our unique interdisciplinary approach at the intersection of art and technology and civic engagement.
